Mr Bostock & Mrs Lloyd's Class

Canon Sharples CE Primary School, Wigan

Homework,up to 1994, was only seen in secondary school. The following year Ofsted started to inspect several primary schools. After that,Ofsted suggested that primary schools should provde homework as it increases childrens performance. So… do you think homework is necessary?

Despite the fact that homework causes plenty of stress,it is thought that it benefits children immensely and is known to get them high grades! Subsequently, homework increases the children’s skills and knowledge. However,it is claimed that many parents are know for completing the child’s homework for them.In addition, those in favour say that homework takes too much time up.Contrary to what supporters think, critics say that pupils do enough work at school and weekends are always full due to homework.

It is claimed that children can use their own initiative by thinking carefully about the resources and how to do them. However, critics say that the children may not have the right equipment to do internet related homework.

In conclusion, schools have decided to continue homework so that the pupils can get used to the future. However schools(both secondary and primary) have to think about what they are setting for the children.
So I guess homework is here to stay.

Your argument is very well written Chloe, you have used excellent sentence starters. I think there will always be arguments both for and against homework and it is very true that homework set should be necessary to improve pupils’ skills.
